About Bryan D. Girard
I have been a missionary on the island of New Britain in Papua New Guinea for 20 years. My wife Teena and I have 9 children, only three of which are still with us here in PNG.
I bought an Olympus E-410 in January of 2010 and as a techie type, read the manual. After taking some relatively nice photos, I picked up Jim Miotke's book, The BetterPhoto Guide to Digital Photography, and started taking some better pictures. I eventually bought an Olympus E-3 and a couple of nice lenses and my photos are getting better.
I mostly photograph people and document events in Kandrian, but I like taking macro pictures, pictures of flowers and my wife's completely from scratch cooking.
My photography goal is to be able to get the pictures I want when I want, that is, to know enough to control the camera and make it accomplish what I envision when I set out to take the picture.
